Monday, Jan. 15 marks the start of open burning season in Lakeville and Middleboro.

Between Jan. 15 and May 1, permitted homeowners may burn brush, cane, driftwood, and forestry debris from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m.

Apply for a Middleboro permit at https://middleborough.firepermits.com.

Both permits cost $10 each.
