Feb 22, 2025

MIDDLEBORO — The Middleboro Police Department has a new deputy chief and lieutenant.

Lt. David Beals has been promoted to the post of deputy chief. That job became vacant when the previous deputy chief, Robert Ferreira, was promoted to chief. He replaced previous Chief Joseph Perkins, who retired.

Beals graduated from the police academy in 2000 and has served on the Middleboro force since.

Sgt. Nathan Ferbert will now serve as lieutenant for the department. He has served on the department for 21 years.

Ferreira described both men as “tremendously knowledgeable and dedicated employees of the town.’’

The promotions are effective Feb. 27.
