Middleboro Board of Health condemns camper
MIDDLEBORO — The Board of Health condemned a camper parked at 341 West Grove Street at a hearing on June 2.
Health Officer Kayla Smith began receiving complaints about the property from neighbors beginning in early April, including from a nearby restaurant owner.
The property originally housed two campers, one smaller and one larger, both owned by relatives of the property owner, Caramia Diegoli. After repeated notices from health officials, the larger camper was removed from the property on May 29 by the owner.
The second camper is unoccupied but remains at the property. After the owner receives notice of the condemnation order they will have 24 hours to remove the camper.
Diegoli enthusiastically agreed to allow the town to remove the camper if the owner does not return to take it.
“I’d rather have it gone, they just dumped it there. I would vote to remove the camper, If I had a trailer hook on my car I would move it myself,” she said.
In Middleboro, the Select Board also operates as the Board of Health.
