EAST TAUNTON - Michael John Suizdak, age 67, of East Taunton, formerly of Enfield, Connecticut, died peacefully on Tuesday, August 11, 2026, at his home.
Born in Hartford, Connecticut, he was the son of the late Stanley & Phyllis (Rogers) Suizdak. Mike grew up and attended schools in Enfield, Connecticut, graduating from Enrico Fermi High School, Class of 1977. He enlisted in the US Navy in 1978, served on the USS Kitty Hawk, and earned several medals, a commendation, and an award. Mike received an honorable discharge in 1982. He worked for many years as a maintenance mechanic, starting at the Key Handling Company in New Jersey and later at Talbot's in Lakeville, retiring in 2024. Mike briefly worked at Hertz Car Rental in Raynham. He was passionate and a devoted sports fan; he especially loved (yes) the New York Giants, the Boston Red Sox, racing, golf, and the UConn Huskies basketball during March Madness. Mike was a kind and loving gentleman, he will be missed.
For 32 years, Michael was the beloved husband to Rebecca (Wilson) Suizdak; loving father of Kelly Bowers-Wilson & her fiancé John Mort of Whitehall, Wisconsin, Melissa Bowers of Middleborough, and Travis Hutchins of East Taunton; adored grandfather of Jeffrey Chapman, Jr., Madison Osborne, Brayden Osborne, Owen Mort and great-grandfather of Owen Mort, Jr.; cherished brother of Sue Santanella & her husband Paul of Enfield, Connecticut, John Suizdak of Enfield, Connecticut, Cindy Ferreira & her husband Manny of Springfield, Mary Hayes & her late husband Bill of Greenville, South Carolina, and the late Robert Suizdak & his surviving companion Gloria Smolie of Enfield, Connecticut. Mike is also survived by many dear nieces, nephews, cousins and friends.
Family and friends are welcome to the visiting hours at the Ashley~Drolette Funeral Home, 35 Oak Street, Middleborough, on Friday, August 14, 2026, from 4:00-8:00 PM.
All are invited to Michael's Graveside Service with Navy Military Honors at the Massachusetts National Cemetery, 1 Connery Avenue, Bourne, on Wednesday, August 26, 2026, at 11:30 AM.
