MIDDLEBORO — Vietnam veteran Wayne Packard was recently honored for his 50 years of service to the American Legion.  

During his Legion career he has been a post commander and held just about every position in the organization.  

He is currently a member of the Simeon L. Nickerson Post 64 of Middleboro, where he serves as the armorer.  

Packard was awarded a citation from the American Legion National Commander Vincent “Jim” Troiola, a citation from Post 64, a Legion shirt with the quote “50 Years of Service” a 50-year lapel pin, and a 50-star patch to attach to his Legion Cap.
