ASBESTOS ABATEMENT
AT THE FORMER DPW BUILDING

The Town of Middleborough, Massachusetts is inviting the submission of sealed Bids for Asbestos Abatement at the Former DPW Building. Bid packages may be obtained beginning at 8:00 AM on June 25, 2025 in the Town Manager’s Office, located at 10 Nickerson Ave, Middleborough, or via email request to surettee@middleboroughma.gov. Bids must be received in the Town Manager’s Office by 2:00 PM on July 10, 2025, at which time and place they will be opened publicly and read aloud. An optional pre-bid site visit will occur at 10:00 AM on July 2, 2025 at 48 Wareham Street, Middleborough. Work consists of removing and properly disposing of asbestos containing building materials at the former DPW Building, located at 48 Wareham Street, Middleborough. Bidders must comply with the wage rates and weekly payroll submittals required by the Prevailing Wage Law.

A release of oil and/or hazardous materials has occurred at this location, which is a disposal site as defined by M.G.L. c. 21E, § 2 and the Massachusetts Contingency Plan, 310 CMR 40.0000. To evaluate the release, a Phase I Initial Site Investigation was performed pursuant to 310 CMR 40.0480. The site has been classified as TIER II pursuant to 310 CMR 40.0500. On June 13, 2025, F-K Realty Trust. filed a TIER II Classification Submittal with the Department of Environmental Protection (MassDEP). NOTICE OF PUBLIC HEARING

Pursuant to M.G.L. Ch 131, the Wetlands Protection Act, the Lakeville Conservation Commission will hold a public hearing on 7/8/2025 at 6:30pm at the Lakeville Police Station, 323 Bedford Street, on a Request for Determination of Applicability. The applicant, Norma Anthony, is proposing removal of tree debris.
The project is located at 17 Pine Bluff and is also identified as Assessor’s Map 065 Block 004 Lot 008.

Pursuant to M.G.L. Ch 131, the Wetlands Protection Act, the Lakeville Conservation Commission will hold a public hearing on 7/8/2025 at 6:30pm at the Lakeville Police Station, 323 Bedford Street, on a Request for Determination of Applicability. The applicant, Donna DeCost, is proposing removal of a diseased tree.
The project is located at 129 Staples Shore Road and is also identified as Assessor’s Map 064 Block 003 Lot 013
