Lakeville barn destroyed by fire
LAKEVILLE — A barn at 36 Staples Shore Road home was deemed a total loss after a fire Monday, Dec. 16, Fire Chief Michael O’Brien reported.
The call came in at about 12:11 p.m.
No injuries were reported. The cause has not been determined, but the blaze is not considered suspicious, the chief said.
Mutual aid was provided by Middleboro, Raynham and Freetown fire departments. Middleboro supplied an engine, tanker, a command officer, and an ambulance to the scene.
O'Brien thanked his firefighters for their hard work and to the mutual aid partners.
On the same day as the fire, the chief officially welcomed two new department members at the Select Board meeting.
Firefighter Jerry Paul has three years of fire service experience and is an EMT. Paramedic Peyton Bunker previously worked for an urban EMS service.
