LAKEVILLE—The Lakeville Public Library is gearing up for spring with an abundance of events.

The Mini Crochet Shamrock Pin event will be held on Saturday, March  4 at 10 a.m. Members of Lakeville’s Hooks & Needles group will be on hand to teach people how to crotchet a mini shamrock pin. This is best suited for people who know single and double crochet stitches. Yarn and beads will be provided, but participants are asked to bring an F crochet hook.  Limit 12. Call 508-947-9023 to register.

The Vintage Car Slideshow Social will be held on Tuesday, March 7 at 6:30 p.m.  John from Orphan Car Garage will highlight some automotive milestones and some of their most noted vehicles of the past,  from Rambler to Studebaker, Corvair to Vega. Slideshows and stories will be presented accompanied by root beer floats.

Filomena Tripp will be at the library to talk about her book, “Invisible Courage,’’ on Tuesday, March 14 at 6:30 p.m.

Local book author Sam Farmer will run an event at 6:30 p.m.  Tuesday, April 11.

The Essential Oils for Allergies Workshop will take place on Thursday, April 27 at 6:30 p.m. Chris Ventura, doTERRA Wellness advocate, will teach the basics of using essential oils to combat seasonal allergies.

The Knitters’ Group will be held on Thursdays after 5 p.m. and Cribbage Club will be held every Thursday at 6 p.m. Newcomers are always welcome.

The Great Ponds Gallery at the Lakeville Public Library will be hosting a Patty McMahon Memorial Group Art Exhibit in June and July 2023.

This is a chance for all local artists to display their work, whether on paper or canvas, photography, textile, or three-dimensional. This is a juried exhibit, and organizers hope to honor Patty McMahon’s memory with the best work the area has to offer.

Those interested will be asked to submit up to six images of art to be considered by April 19. Applications are available online at lakevillelibrary.org or in the library, 4 Precinct St.
