MIDDLEBORO — As the calendar races toward the end of the year, Middleboro is getting into the holiday spirit with a series of events.

The Festival of Trees is approaching. The festival begins at 6 p.m. Friday, Dec. 2 at 46 South Main St. 

The trees on display will feature a range of themes, including Harry Potter, Boston sports teams, angels, Vineyard mysteries, Snowflakes and Snowmen.

Those attending can view the trees and visit with Santa.

Admission is $2 for adults. Children younger than 12 are admitted free.

A Christmas market and tree lighting will be held from noon to 5 p.m. Saturday, Dec. 3 at the ballroom at Middleboro Town Hall. 

Activities will include vendor displays and face-painting. A holiday train display will be set up in the select board room and Santa will make an appearance.
