Governor lifts travel ban
Feb 24, 2026
Governor Maura Healey has lifted the travel ban for Plymouth and surrounding counties starting at noon on Tuesday, Feb. 24.
Residents are still advised to use caution and stay home if possible to allow for crews to continue their cleanup efforts, according to a press release from the governor’s office. Those who need to travel should prepare for icy, snow-covered and slushy conditions on the roadways.
Healey announced the ban on civilian vehicle travel across the region on Monday afternoon as blizzard conditions brought unprecedented snowfall. The ban is now lifted as roadway conditions have improved.
