MIDDLEBOROUGH - Derek Richard Ducasse, age 52, of Middleborough, died suddenly on Tuesday, February 17, 2026, at his home.
Derek was born in Wareham and lived in Middleborough. He loved his family, cherished time spent with family and true friends and loved all things Irish. Derek's greatest joy in his life was his two sons, Trevor and Tanner. He was a devoted Dad; he was always busy with Trevor and Tanner doing fun events including going to the beach, fishing, boating, playing golf, 4-wheeling or hunting which became a shared passion with Tanner. Derek enjoyed unified basketball games that Trevor played in at Middleborough High School and he never missed a game that Tanner played baseball at the Field of Dreams.
Derek did weekly charities, which his late aunt, Susan Byrne started. He spent many hours searching charities to donate to, from the Byrne Family Charitable Fund. Derek took great pride in doing this work; he did a wonderful job and his family is very proud of him.
Derek leaves behind his sons, Trevor Ducasse and Tanner Ducasse both of Middleborough; his mother, Kathleen Pratt & her husband John Pratt, Jr. of Middleborough; his father, Richard Ducasse of Florida; his sister, Allison Redlon & her fiancé Benjamin Quinn of Middleborough; his brothers, Richard Ducasse, Jr. and Bobby Pratt both of Florida; his nieces and nephews, Tessa Redlon, Alexa Redlon, George Redlon and Kyle Quinn all of Middleborough, Chloe Pratt of Georgia and Parker Pratt of Florida; his aunt, Bonnie Gallant & her husband Donald of Middleborough; and his cousins, DJ, Kristin and Lindsay.
Derek was the grandson of the late Carmen Stulpin, the late Jean Byrne, the late William Byrne & his late wife Joan Byrne; nephew of the late Susan Byrne and Jim Moxley; and cousin of the late Billy Byrne.
Family and close friends are welcome to the visiting hours at the Ashley~Drolette Funeral Home, 35 Oak Street, Middleborough, on Sunday, February 22, 2026, from 2:00-5:00 PM.
Funeral and Interment services will be private.
