Amy L. Giovanoni, 64
BUZZARDS BAY - Amy L. Giovanoni of Buzzards Bay passed peacefully to Heaven on February 15, 2026, after battling numerous medical issues through the years. She was 64.
She was born on September 10, 1961 in Middleboro, youngest daughter of the late Edward and Dorothy Moranville, attending local schools. Amy was a graduate of Middleborough High School, Class of 1979.
Amy met the love of her life, Joe, while working at Franklin Sporting Goods in 1981. In 1982 they married and over the years brought three beautiful children into this world.
Amy loved her family and that love was returned. Family meant everything to her. Once her late mother was no longer able to host family gatherings, Amy took over. She was the glue that bonded everyone together, hosting all holidays and family celebrations at her home for many years.
She was very creative. Whether it was sewing hand-made Halloween costumes for her children, dresses, dog coats she sold on Etsy and eBay thru the years, rag quilts, or crocheting beautiful warm throws for her family, she had talent.
An unwavering and loyal Boston Celtics fan, she rarely missed a televised game. Thru the years, she enjoyed attending a few games in person with her husband and son, which was very special to her.
An extraordinary caregiver to her late daughter Maria, she was an advocate for Maria her entire life. Her favorite vacation memory was when Maria was granted a wish by the local Make-A-Wish chapter to go to Disney World in Florida. Amy called it her “happy place” and was able to return with Maria a few years later with her son to create more memories.
A lover of nature and animals, Amy always had a cat and/or a Collie, sometimes both! As a child, Amy enjoyed walks in the woods with her late father and sister, as well as walks with her three children before arthritis impacted on her. After marriage, she dearly loved time spent with her husband at Acadia National Park in Maine. She loved both the mountains and the ocean and always looked forward to the fall/winter when her beloved Eider ducks returned to the Cape from Canada.
The last few years she added gardening to her list of hobbies and accomplishments. She started seeds indoors and then Joe would transplant them outside. Together, they had a successful vegetable garden for years. Harvest was shared with family and friends. Amy loved flowers and enjoyed watching wrens build nests in her hanging flower baskets by her door where she could watch the hatchlings from her kitchen window.
One of Amy’s favorite words was being called “Grammy” by her grandchildren who brought her so much happiness. She truly loved being the doting/spoiling grandmother. Without hesitation she would say her biggest accomplishment in life was being a good wife, mother, and grandmother.
Beloved wife of 44 years of Joseph J Giovanoni. Adored mother of Michael J. Giovanoni and his wife, Cassandre, Michelle K. Ryll and her husband, Sean and the late Maria Sarah Rose Giovanoni. Loving grandmother of Calvin John Ryll, Oliver Theo Ryll, Gianna Agenor Maria Giovanoni, and Alessandra Agenor Giovanoni. Beloved sister Kathleen R Bunch of Lutz, Florida.
Relatives and friends are invited to visit on Friday, February 20, 2026 at Chapman Funerals & Cremations – Wareham, 2599 Cranberry Hwy. (Rt. 28), Wareham from 9 to 10:30 AM.
