Dec 27, 2024

MIDDLEBORO — The Bespoke Consort will perform live on Sunday, Jan. 12 at 3 p.m. at First Unitarian Universalist Church of Middleboro, 25 South Main St.

The quartet will present a program of Classical-A-Go-Go!, chamber music-sans-boundaries that includes neo-Baroque escapades, Impressionistic tone poems, quirky musical novelties, tangos, rollicking arrangements of Erik Satie, Raymond Scott and Leroy Anderson, plus original works.

This concert is open to the public. There is no admission at the door, but donations are accepted.

The building is handicap accessible, with an elevator serving both levels of the church.

The consort includes members of the Brockton Symphony. Featured are: Erik Lindgren, piano; Thomasine Berg, flute; Mark Finklestein, bassoon; and Torben Hansen, clarinet.

The group showcases compositions and arrangements by Middleboro resident Lindgren, who is a contemporary classical composer with a catalog of over six dozenworks, ranging from solo piano pieces to chamber music and orchestral works.

Lindgren has also recorded and performed with his new music ensemble, Birdsongs of the Mesozoic, which has recorded 12 CDs and toured internationally over their 45-yearexistence. In 1978, Lindgren established Sounds Interesting Productions, a commercial recording studio and music production company based in Middleboro.
