Apr 7, 2024

The Cranberry Country Chamber of Commerce will host its annual food drive and electronics dropoff Saturday, April 21 and Sunday, April 22 at North Easton Savings Bank, 448 West Grove St., Middleboro; and Muckey’s Liquors, 13 Harding St., Route 44, and Value Store It self-storage, 15 Main St., both in Lakeville.

On Saturday only from 9 a.m. to noon, the Chamber of Commerce will have a truck at the lot to recycle electronics and any electric appliances that can be carried in.

The charge to recycle most items is a donation of food. A fee of $40 will be charged for any TV larger than 32 inches.

From 9 a.m. to 2 p.m. both days, donations of non-perishable food will be accepted at all locations. Food donated at the North Easton Saving Bank, Middleboro location will be accepted by Sacred Heart Food Pantry. Non-expired shelf staple items such as cereals, peanut butter, jelly, canned vegetables, soups and pastas will be accepted.

The Sacred Heart Food Pantry is constantly in need of replenishment to serve up to 350 families each month. Most recently, the pantry distributed Easter meals to many families.

Anyone struggling to put enough food on the family’s table may sign up for services.  The hours are from 8:30 to 11 a.m. on the first Saturday of each month and from 4 to 6:30 p.m.  the second and fourth Wednesday.
