Blizzard’s worth of snowpeople decorate town hall lawn

MIDDLEBORO – In an effort to spread kindness and raise money for the Sacred Heart Food Pantry, Middleboro’s town hall lawn has been filled with snowmen and snowwomen.

Robyn Iarrobino, who owns the Blue Anchor Studio on East Grove Street in Middleboro, said that she sold blank plastic snowmen for $25 each. The money raised from the sales will be donated to the Sacred Heart Food Pantry, and Iarrobino said that she raised approximately $1,400.

The people who purchased the plastic snowmen would decorate the snowmen before returning the snowmen to the studio, and once the snowmen were all decorated, they were placed in the Middleboro town hall lawn.

“They were encouraged to put a message of kindness on the back, as well as their name,” Iarrobino explained. She added that the snowmen would be displayed until Jan. 1.

The snowmen are decorated in a diverse range of costumes. One snowman is dressed up as a football player. Another is dressed up as a girl scout. Others are dressed more traditionally in a top hat.

Some of the messages on the snowmen include phrases like “one kind word can warm three winter months” and “make the world a better place.”
