Area Scouts continue to have sweet success with cookie sale

Feb 10, 2023
Freetown and Lakeville Girl Scouts are nearing the end of their three-month cookie season.

More than 100 local girls, ages 5-18, from 27 different troops, have been setting up cookie booths throughout Freetown and Lakeville, thanks to generous support from many local area establishments.

Cookies can also be donated through Girl Scouts “Cookie Share” program - which empowers local troops to provide cookies to first responders and the military.

These girls have been selling cookies for $5 per box, to earn funds for their troop activities such as community service and learning opportunities. Girl Scouts cookies are big business and have been described as  said to be the largest girl-led business in the world. Selling cookies teaches these young girls math skills, offers lessons in selling and marketing and helps them gain confidence.

Cookie booths will continue into early March, with sales ending mid-March.
