50 years later, Middleboro class of 1975 holds week-long celebration
MIDDLEBORO — Half a century after graduation, the Middleboro High School class of 1975 celebrated its 50th reunion.
Alumni spent Sept. 15-20 attending activities memorializing their school pride and looking toward the school’s future.
Throughout the celebration former Sachems wore custom shirts designed and printed by Rosemarie Walsh.
They began the week touring the high school, led by Assistant Principal Jeff Sylvia. They observed the building’s murals of the town’s history, updated computer technology, the wood shop and art rooms, and its alternative learning programs.
The celebration continued Sept. 18 at Harper’s Brewery, at 16 Wareham St., where owner Mike Pasalacqua provided beer and seltzers.
On Sept. 19 class members attended a football game. Athletic Director Ryan Sylvia created a program that replicated one from 1975 that honored players, cheerleaders and businesses from that year.
The week closed out Sept. 20 with dinner and a dance at Brack’s Tavern, at 58 E. Grove St. Anthony Andrade DJed and Norman Galvin presented a slideshow memorializing classmates who have passed away.
The class of 1975 will continue celebrating their time in school through scholarships to future students.
