Geraldine Petrone (Courtemanche), 90
Geraldine Petrone (Courtemanche) passed away at her home in Middleboro on September 13, 2025, after a long joyful life at the age of 90. She is the daughter of Caroline Kuhns and Hawley Burns (a veteran of WW1).
She is survived by her sister, Sister Laura Yolanda Burns and predeceased by her other sister, Sister Sharon Petronella Burns. Geraldine is survived by her seven loving children: Diane Stockbridge, Michael Courtemanche, Dennis Lyrae, Jack Petrone, Ed Petrone Jr., Ray Petrone, and Gregg Durmer, along with 19 grandchildren and 17 great grandchildren. Geraldine was born in Wilkes Barre, PA. Married a Navy man, John Courtemanche, who passed away early in life from a service-connected injury. She later married the second love of her life, Edward Petrone, Sr. Together they lived in West Bridgewater for 40 years before retiring to Oak Point in Middleboro. Geraldine enjoyed a 37-year career with the Department of Veterans Affairs as a hospital administrator. She enjoyed traveling to the Bahama’s and took many cruises while enjoying her retirement. Her faith and family were her guiding principles in life.
Visiting hours will be held at Conley Funeral Home, 138 Belmont Street (Rte. 123) Brockton, on Monday, September 29, 2025, from 3-7 pm. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated on Tuesday, September 30, 2025, at 10:00 am, in St. Ann Church, 103 N. Main Street, West Bridgewater. Burial will follow in Calvary Cemetery, N. Cary Street, Brockton.
