Barbara Valla Frappier, of New Smyrna Beach, Fla, passed away on May 15, 2025 at the age of 77.

She was born on January 25th 1948 in Greenwich CT. To John Plaice and Carol (Gongaware) Plaice.  She had two younger brothers, David, and, Robert Plaice.

 

She will be greatly missed by her brother Robert, her children, MacDonald Sprague III, and, Meredith Sprague.  Her step Children Paul Frappier and his Laura, Phillip Frappier, and his wife Liz.  Her grandchildren Michael, Morgan, Max and Hunter. Her great friends, and, Her beloved cats.

She worked at Warwick & Associates as a manager, and conservation representative.

She was very active in the town of Middleboro, where she lived for over 30 years, including serving on the Conservation Commission.

While in New Smyrna she continued being active in her community, volunteering at special needs, and veterans fishing tournaments. 

Barbara was known for her quick wit, strong will, and unwavering determination in advocating for what was right. 

She often said, "one can be judged, by the quality of their friends”.   If this is indeed the case, Barbara will be judged very highly.

 

Barbara will be joining her best friend, and, late husband, Arsene Frappier in a shared plot at Nemasket Hill Cemetery, in Middleboro, overlooking their beloved Nemasket River.
