Middleboro Council on Aging announces April events

The Middleboro Council on Aging has announced its schedule of events and programs for April. These activities are open to community members, and some require advanced reservations.

The month begins on April 1 at 1:00 p.m. with a Book Club meeting discussing “Chemistry” by Bonnie Garmus. On April 3, a Hearing Clinic will be available through Home Hearing Healthcare. Call ahead to book an appointment. The Quilting Group will meet on April 3 and 17 at 1:00 p.m. All are welcome to attend. On April 8, a Fall Prevention Workshop with RN Becka Mitchell will take place at 1:00 p.m., and attendees are asked to call ahead to reserve a spot. The Support Group for Caregivers will meet on April 9 at 7:00 p.m., offering guidance, support, and resources. Reservations are required for this meeting as well.

The Blood Pressure Clinic with Town Nurse Becka Mitchell will take place on April 9 and 23. On April 10, the Council will show the movie “The Family Plan,” with reservations needed to attend. Representative Norman Orrall will hold constituent hours on April 14 from 11:00 a.m. to 12:00 p.m. Later that day, Legal Consultations with Cape Law will be available, and appointments must be booked in advance. The Low Vision Support Group will meet at 1:00 p.m. on April 14, and individuals should contact the COA for more details.

On April 17, Steve Adelman will be available for Veterans Support appointments, with reservations required. At 1:00 p.m. that day, the 3 Sum Band will perform a concert, and attendees must call ahead to reserve a seat. On April 22, Line Dancing with Dave and Marcia Burbank will be held at 1:00 p.m. for a $5 fee per class. On April 24 at 1:00 p.m., Marty Gitlin will present "Red Sox vs. Yankees: The Greatest Rivalry in Sports," and seats for this event should be reserved in advance.

Foot Care services will be offered on April 25, and those interested should call ahead to schedule an appointment. Senator Kelly Dooner will hold constituent hours on April 28 from 11:00 a.m. to 12:00 p.m.
