Middleboro Rotary builds new chapter for Nichols book box
MIDDLEBORO — When Debbie Walgreen, librarian at Nichols Middle School, reached out about refurbishing the school’s very worn little book box, the Middleboro Rotary Club answered the call.
Club members Steve Quevillon and Kevin “Quack’’ Quackenbush removed the book box and spent hours restoring it in a cold garage. Their work included sanding and constructing a new door.
The following day Nicole Quevillon painted the book box. After the club’s efforts, the rejuvenated book box, now proudly sporting that fresh coat of paint in the school's colors, was reinstalled March 4.
Steve Quevillon, Kevin Quackenbush and fellow Rotarian Penny Quackenbush then restocked the book box, providing the box with a fresh coat of paint and readers with a fresh source of material.
