Dog rescued from Precinct Street to get new leash on life

Jan 9, 2025

MIDDLEBORO — The final dog removed from a Precinct Street home following a situation that led to animal cruelty charges is available for adoption from the Middleboro shelter and received enthusiastic response.

Tanner is a neutered male, about 4 to 5 years old. He has generated so much interest that applications are no longer being accepted.

“We can not thank you all enough for sharing our sweet Tanner,’’ the shelter reports. “We are overwhelmed with the love shown to our boy.”

Many meet and greets are scheduled, according to shelter staff, and a decision will be made soon.

“Thank you to everyone who has reached out to us. We cannot wait for this boy to meet his perfect match.’’

Tanner loves to go for long walks, run and play in the yard, and enjoys snuggling. He could use some training with manners.  He originally displayed some fear towards men but has worked those issues out.

He is a very smart dog, knows some tricks and understands “sit,’’ ‘’down,’’ “stay’’ and “paw.’’

And soon, he will understand the meaning of a loving home.
