December will be busy at Lakeville Council on Aging

LAKEVILLE — A variety of events are scheduled at the Lakeville Council on Aging, 1 Dear Crossing, for December.

Outreach counselor and social worker Karen Fisher is available by appointment only Tuesday from 9 a.m. to 4 p.m. and Wednesday 9 to 11 a.m. Call 508-947-7224 and press 4.

Cafe hours have changed to 9 a.m. to noon. 

Office hours for the Lakeville Select Board are cancelled for December and will return at 10 a.m. Friday, Jan. 10.

Office hours for State Rep. Norman Orrall will take place from 9:30 to 10:30 a.m. Monday, Dec. 9. State Sen. Michael Rodrigues will host office hours at noon Wednesday, Dec. 18.

Attorney Adam Bond will offer free 20-minute consultations for Lakeville seniors by appointment only. He will be at the Council on Aging from 10 to 11 a.m. Tuesday, Dec. 31.

Members of the Lakeville Fire Department will visit the cafe Friday Dec. 6 and 20.

Counselors from SHINE, which stands for Serving the Health Needs of Everyone, are available by appointment only. Call 508-947-7224 and press 1 for more information.

Parkinson’s support group meets the first and second Tuesday of the month at 10 a.m.

Book Club meets Monday, Dec. 9 at 1 p.m. No registration is required; walk-ins are welcome.

Chair massages are available at 1 p.m. Monday Dec. 9. Cost is $5 due at sign up. Sign ups begin immediately.

Brain builders program takes place at 1 p.m. Tuesday, Dec. 10. Sign-ups have begun; call 508-947-7224 and press 1.

A hearing loss clinic is scheduled from 10 a.m. to noon Thursday, Dec. 12. Appointments are required. Call 508-947-7224 and press 1.

A program on coping with grief or loss will take place at 1 p.m. Thursday, Dec. 12. Sign-ups are not required; walk-ins are welcome.

Drums Alive with Casslyn will take place Tuesday, Jan. 2 at 2 p.m. Sign-ups are required; call 508-947-7224. The center is also looking for volunteers to help set up and take down the equipment. 

Holiday caroling with the Girl Scouts will take place at 1 p.m. Thursday, Dec. 12. Sign-ups are required; call 508-947-7224. 

A program on holiday fraud prevention is scheduled at 10 a.m. Tuesday, Dec. 10. Sign-ups are requested but walk-ins are welcome; call 508-947-7224. 

Mobile foot care is available from 1 to 3 p.m. Thursday, Dec. 19. Appointments are required; call  508-947-7224. 

Movies will be shown throughout the months. “Radio City Christmas Spectacular’’ will be shown at 1 p.m. Monday, Dec. 23, “The Holdovers’’ at 1 p.m. Thursday, Dec. 26 and “The Family Stone’’ at 1 p.m. Monday, Dec. 30. Admission is $2 per movie; call to sign up at 508-947-7224.
