Peirce Homestead opens doors to public Nov. 30
MIDDLEBORO — The public is invited to visit the Peter H. Peirce Homestead,132 North Main St., Middleboro, from 2 to 4 p.m. Saturday, Nov. 30, immediately after the end of the Christmas parade.
The Board of Directors for the homestead encourages the public to view the interior of the building, which is being transformed to be more reflective of the 1800s.
The building served as the former law office of Decas, Murray, and Decas and was bequeathed to the Friends of the Middleboro Public Library after the death of William Decas.
The Friends took ownership in June. The organization owns the building but is operating under the name, The Peter H. Peirce Homestead, a registered non-profit.
The main floor of the house is being transformed into a venue that will serve as a community gathering spot hosting a variety of programs starting in 2025.
