MIDDLEBORO — Travel back to the Blizzard of 78 during a presentation at 6:30 p.m. Dec. 4 at the Middleboro Public Library, 102 North Main St.

Nancy Franks of FRANKly Speaking, who was a junior at Taunton High School during the storm, will lead the discussion. The blizzard dropped more than 27 inches of snow on the region, stranding cars along an eight-mile stretch of Route 128. Homes, roads and infrastructure were destroyed by tidal flooding and violent winds.

Franks will also share stories of kindness, cooperation and courage that took place during the storm. A snow-themed raffle will follow the presentation.

Those attending are asked to bring Blizzard of 78 photos if they have them. Although not required, registration is requested for planning purposes. The library can be reached at  508-946-2470. The program is sponsored by the Friends of the Middleboro Library.
