Homeless man arrested after breaking into pizza parlor
MIDDLEBORO — Middleboro Police arrested a homeless man after he allegedly broke into South Middleboro Pizza & Grill early Sunday, Sept. 22, according to Deputy Police Chief Robert Ferreira.
Police arrested Craig Jolin, 40, and charged him with breaking and entering in the nighttime for a felony. Jolin has reportedly lived in Middleboro, Lakeville and Wareham.
South Middleboro Pizza & Grill is located at 561 Wareham St. in Middleboro.
Prior to the arrest, Middleboro police and investigators from the Southeastern Massachusetts Law Enforcement Council were conducting surveillance as part of a multi-jurisdictional investigation.
During the surveillance, law enforcement officers heard the sound of someone breaking into the restaurant and saw a person dressed head-to-toe in black clothing run from the building, police said. When they entered the restaurant, detectives found a damaged window screen, an open window and open cash registers, police said.
Detectives arrested Jolin at a local gas station, after he had allegedly removed the black clothing he was seen wearing while fleeing from the pizza shop. While searching the vehicle, detectives reported finding loose cash, a sweatshirt and a mask, police said.
Southeastern Massachusetts detectives are investigating several nighttime break-ins in Middleboro, Carver, Lakeville, Raynham, Rochester and Wareham. Additional charges are expected to be made once the investigation concludes.
