Veteran appreciation, Father’s Day and more to do this week
Father’s Day is near and there’s plenty to do this week.
Ken Monterio returns to the Middleboro Council on Aging to celebrate Father’s day on Thursday, June 12 at 1 p.m. Monterio is based on the South Shore. He blends a mix of modern and classic favorites from the rock and country genres. A baked chicken lunch will be served promptly at noon.
Are you ready to get outdoors? Because the town of Middleboro will hold its second annual Veterans and Family Appreciation Day on Saturday, June 14, from 11 a.m. to 2 p.m. at Battis Field on Jackson Street. The event will include a free cookout, games, and activities for local veterans and their families. Attendees will also have the opportunity to meet Millie, the Middleboro Police Department’s new comfort dog, and view fire engines from the Middleboro Fire Department.
Those who’d like to flex their artistic side can join Amy in painting seascapes on Lakeville Council of Aging’s Paint Day on Wednesday, June 18 at 10 a.m.
Beginners are always welcome, as Amy provides step-by-step instructions to help you create your own masterpiece.
