MIDDLEBORO __ Spring has arrived and with the season comes colorful flowers that attract equally colorful butterflies. 

An Eastern Tiger Swallowtail butterfly was recently photographed sipping nectar from a pink flowered rhododendron in Middleboro.

Eastern Tiger Swallowtails are frequent visitors to the area, with a wingspan that can reach five inches. As this one is doing, the butterflies frequently visit nectar-rich plants, especially large, composite flowers like Joe-Pye weed, milkweed, and buttonbush.
