Friday, Feb. 10

‘Little Shop of Horrors’

The doors to “Little Shop of Horrors’’ will open at the Middleboro High School auditorium at 7 p.m. Friday Feb. 10 and Saturday Feb. 11 and 2 p.m. Sunday Feb. 12.

The production will be presented by the Middleboro High School Music Department. Joshua Patino is the director.

Saturday, Feb. 11

Celebrate Black History

Black History Month will be celebrated with a presentation of “Black History Soldiers, Sailors and Spies’’ presented by Bright Star Touring Theatre from 1 to 2 p.m. Saturday, Feb. 11 at Middleboro Town Hall. 

Those attending will be able to experience, celebrate and learn about forgotten heroes and soldiers in Black history. They will see the work of the Buffalo Soldiers and Col. Charles Young as they help settle the American West and some of the nation’s first national parks; join the Tuskegee Airmen as they take flight to help win a battle in World War II and learn about the work of spies such as Mary Elizabeth Bowser, who worked with the Union during the Civil War.

The performance is open to all ages. No registration is required. Funding was provided by Middleboro Cultural Council and Friends of Middleboro Public Library. 

Make a heart necklace 

A drop-in craft program for Valentine’s Day will be held from 10 a.m. to 1 p.m. Saturday, Feb. 11 at Soule Homestead, 46 Soule St., Middleboro. Children will have an opportunity to make a heart necklace. A heart cutout, cord and decorating materials will be provided. Adults will be asked to accompany children. Fee is $5 per necklace per child. 

Sunday, Feb. 12

Valentine bouquet decoration 

Create a custom flower bouquet Sunday, Feb. 12 at Soule Homestead, 46 Soule St., Middleboro. With guidance from an expert floral designer, participants can learn how to pair flower colors and textures. Gift wrap, note cards, vases and travel box included. Fee is $85 for members and $95 for non-members. Morning class is at 10 a.m.; afternoon class is at 1 p.m. Pre-registration is required; contact info@soulehomestead.org for more details.
