Steve was born and grew up in Middleborough, the son of the late Foster & Marjorie (Young) Jackson. He enlisted in the US Navy, served on the USS Wasp and was honorably discharged.  Steve worked for the Blacksmith Shop in Middleborough making truck bodies and repairs. He worked various jobs; for Kelsey Ferguson Brick Yard in Middleborough as a supervisor, at Nemasket Construction as a foreman, Toll Road Truck Equipment in Bridgewater and United Truck Tanks in Brockton. 

 

Steve found his "ideal" job at Boston Steel in Malden, working as a supervisor where he was employed for over 30 years and retired in 2014. He repaired CB (radios) equipment and more recently computers. He was a talented carpenter and an expert welder. Always thinking, Steve was very smart and gifted with his hands; he could fix anything!

 

For 62 years, Steve was the beloved husband to Laurentina "Lolly" (Medas) Jackson; loving father of Loretta Massey of Bridgton, Maine, Mark F. Jackson, Sr. & his wife Kathleen of Middleborough, Marjorie Jackson of Bourne, Michael Jackson of Middleborough and the late Vicki Jackson; cherished grandfather of Jessica, Francis, Brent, Tia, Amanda, Lindsey, Mark Jr., Branden, Brianna, Benjamin, James, Robert, Zoe, Daniel, Andrew and the late Vicki Massey; great-grandfather of 15 and the late Brayden Coletti; dear brother of Robert Jackson of Middleborough and the late Joyce Millette.

 

Family and friends are welcome to the visiting hours at the Ashley Funeral Home, 35 Oak Street, Middleborough, on Monday, June 5, 2023, from 5:00 - 8:00 pm.

 

All are invited to the funeral service at the Ashley Funeral Home, Middleborough, on Tuesday, June 6, 2023, at 10:00 am.

 

Interment will follow at Saint Mary's Cemetery, Wood Street, Middleborough.
