Soule Homestead plans sunny, starry September
MIDDLEBORO — Soule Homestead Education Center, 46 Soule St., has a busy September ahead.
Upcoming events include:
Harvest Fair, 10 a.m. to 3 p.m. Saturday, Sept. 9. The annual event will include hay rides, a pumpkin patch, demonstrations and vendors, including children vendors. For ticket pricing and more information, visit soulehomestead.org
First Farm Fun, for ages 2-5,Tuesday, Sept. 12. Children can meet an animal, do a craft and experience story time. Members attend, fee is $5 for all others. The event will take place near the sheep pasture.
Coil Pot Pottery Workshop, Saturday, Sept. 16, 10 a.m. and 1 p.m. Create a clay pot with Dave Kraemer. Workshop price is $50 for members, $60 for non-members. Materials fee is $5. The workshop is located in the West Classroom. Pre-registration is required.
Intro to Watercolors, Saturday, Sept. 23, 10 a.m. Linda Malis will present an introduction to watercolors. Price is $30 for members, $40 for non-members, with a $5 materials fee. The workshop is located in the West Classroom. Pre-registration is required.
Pebbles of Rain will perform the last concert of the summer, Saturday, Sept. 23, 4:30 to 7 p.m. Ticket price is $10 for adult members, $15 non-members, $3 for kids older than 5. The concert will take place in front of the barn. Soule shirts, merchandise, food and beer will be available for purchase. The program is sponsored by the Mass Cultural Councils of Middleboro, Lakeville, Acushnet, Berkley, Dartmouth, East Bridgewater, Halifax, Hanson, Kingston, Marion, Pembroke, Plymouth and Plympton.
From Sept. 30 to Oct. 14, visitors can experience the Middleboro Public Library Solar Stroll. Travel through the solar system on a journey to scale, learning about each by reading the signs. Start by the goat enclosure at Soule Homestead and get ready to “blast off.’’ The stroll is free and open to the public. Meet Miss Amanda at the library at 1 p.m. Saturday, Sept. 30 for free eclipse-safe glasses. The program is sponsored by the Friends of the Middleboro Public Library and Soule Homestead. Glasses provided by STAR Library Network’s SEAL program.
