Scouts step up at Fourth of July parade, fireworks
Lakeville–Freetown Girl Scouts showed their dedication and community spirit during the Fourth of July holiday.
Despite the heat, 20 Girl Scouts volunteered at the Freetown fireworks celebration July 3.
They offered free face painting and glitter tattoos to families throughout the evening. Many families in attendance shared how meaningful it was to see Girl Scouts giving back.
The morning of July 4, that same energy carried into the Freetown Fourth of July Parade, where more than 20 Scouts proudly marched together. State Rep. Carole Fiola, once a Girl Scout herself, came by to say hello to the girls and took a quick photo.
The girls displayed Girl Scout flags, carried their service unit banner, and handed out American flags to spectators along the parade route, all examples of their commitment to community connection.
