MIDDLEBORO The Sacred Heart Food Pantry recently received donations of personal care items and Girl Scout cookies through contributions from Elks Lodge #1274 and the Girl Scouts of America.

The Society of St. Vincent de Paul and the pantry accepted 955 pounds of hygiene products purchased with a $2,000 Spotlight Grant from the Elks National Foundation Community Investments Program. Items included shampoo, conditioner, body wash, and liquid soap.

The pantry also received 75 cases—900 boxes—of Girl Scout cookies through the Cookies for a Cause program. Kerrin Snell and Beth Morano, Middleboro Cookie Cupboard Manager, delivered nine varieties, including Thin Mints and Trefoils.

The Cookies for a Cause program encourages Girl Scouts to support community organizations through service and donations. Local troops have previously contributed to the pantry, including donating frozen turkeys for Thanksgiving meals.
