WEST GREENWICH, RHODE ISLAND - Ruth Randall (Shaw) Letendre, age 88, of West Greenwich, Rhode Island, formerly of Middleborough, died peacefully on Wednesday, January 1, 2025, at her home.

Born and raised in Middleborough, she was the daughter of the late Irene (Randall) & Washington Henry Shaw. Ruth graduated from Middleborough High School, Class of 1954. After graduation, she began working at her mother's Rest Home in South Middleborough, the Rock Village area from 1954-1960, and as a bank teller for the Mayflower Cooperative Bank in Middleborough from 1955-1960.

Ruth married Roger E. Letendre on June 18, 1960, at the Sacred Heart Church in Middleborough. She became a homemaker, a "stay at home mom", raising her four children, from 1961-1978, residing in Worcester, MA, Whitehall, PA and North Attleborough, MA. After her divorce, Ruth returned and lived in Middleborough from 1981-2007. She was employed by the Colony Supported Employment, Serenity Home, in Middleborough, from 1987-2007. Ruth held positions with the Middleborough Public Schools as an aide, helped at the Middleborough Public Library and with the Middleborough Girl Scouts as an office assistant.

Ruth moved to Rhode Island to live with her son and be closer to family in 2007. She was instrumental in helping to raise two of her seven grandchildren.

Ruth was the loving mother of Roger M. Letendre & his wife Nancy of West Greenwich, RI, John Letendre & his wife Kimberly of West Warwick, RI, Jacqueline (Letendre) Defosse of West Warwick, RI, and the late Mark E. Letendre; cherished grandmother of Caroline, Meghan, Kaitlyn, Jack, Siena, Roger-Tedy and Danielle; dear sister of Edith Greene of Danvers and the late Martha Perry, Libby Thomas, Marion Shaw and Robert Shaw. She is also survived by her former husband Roger E. Letendre of FL.

Family and friends are welcome to the visiting hours at the Ashley Funeral Home, 35 Oak Street, Middleborough, on Tuesday, January 7, 2025, from 9:00-11:00 AM, followed by a Prayer Service starting at 11:00 AM.

Interment will follow at Saint Mary's Cemetery, Wood Street, Middleborough.
