Born in Los Angeles, California, Bob was the son of the late Leonard & Geneva (Teceno) Colucci.  He grew up in Middleborough, attended public schools, played high school football and was a graduate of Middleborough High School, Class of 1965. Bob enlisted in the U.S. Marines in July of 1965 during the Vietnam War, serving 13 months with his specialty as a rifleman.  He was a recipient of two purple heart medals as well as a good conduct medal. Bob was honorably discharged from all military services in April of 1969.  He continued his education at Bridgewater State College, earning his Bachelor's Degree in Sociology.  

 

For over 20 years, Bob worked for the Department of Corrections, the Commonwealth of Massachusetts, at MCI-Walpole, MCI-Bridgewater State Hospital and the Treatment Center at Bridgewater State Hospital, retiring in 1990 with the rank of Lieutenant. He was a lifetime member of the Middleboro Elks Lodge #1274 and the Mitchell Memorial Club in Middleborough. Bob was an avid poker player, enjoyed walking and loved going and playing at the dog-track. Bob truly loved and adored his grandchildren; he cherished the time spent with them.  

 

For 55 years, Bob was the beloved husband of Doris (Kitchen) Colucci; loving father of Robert Leonard Colucci of Lakeville, Wendy Colucci Steele & her husband Collin of Rochester and Christopher Michael Colucci of Lakeville; devoted grandfather of Andrew Robert Steele and Anthony Collin Steele; dear brother of the late Leonard Joseph Colucci & his surviving wife Sheri Colucci of Lakeville; dear uncle of Steven Colucci & his wife Roxanne of New Jersey; cherished nephew of Theresa Teceno Silvia of Middleborough.

 

Family and friends are welcome to the visiting hours at the Ashley Funeral Home, 35 Oak Street, Middleborough, on Friday, March 3, 2023, from 9:00-10:45 AM, followed by his funeral Mass of Christian Burial at Saint Isidore Parish, Sacred Heart Church, 340 Centre Street, Middleborough, at 11:00 AM.

 

Interment at Saint Mary's Cemetery, Wood Street, Middleborough.
