For about a half hour, hundreds of fireworks were launched over Battis Field during the show on Saturday, July 5. Families and residents sprawled across the park's field while the carnival lights set the scene below the show.
The Middleboro Town Hall lawn was also full of spectators, and it took about 15 minutes to travel from Woodland Avenue to Jackson Street through the heavy downtown traffic on Main Street.
During the show, carnival rides whirled by while the fireworks thundered overhead. “Ooh’s” and “ahh’s” could be heard across the large crowd at Battis Field.
Once the show was over, families donned in glow sticks and Independence Day attire left the park and headed home through the busy, gleeful downtown streets of Middleboro.
