Performing the performing arts

Chloe Cunha, Chloe Westgate and Olivia Miller of Middleboro Girl Scout Cadette Troop 62922 brought their best moves in workshops they held for kids age 3 to 8.

The girls hosted the workshops as part of their Silver Award project, a community focused project where girl scout cadettes aim to tackle a local issue. The three girls are all passionate about the performing arts so they decided to help spread that passion to other kids.

The workshops titled Expressing Feelings Through Performing Arts got kids of two age groups, 3 to 4-year-olds and 5 to 8-year-olds working on art projects and participating in a dancing activity. The 5 to 8-year-olds also read through a play written by the girl scouts.

The activities were intended to help kids express their feelings and the girl scouts handed out guidebooks on how to use the performing arts to help kids express themselves.

The three girls put over 50 hours of work each into the project and it earned them the Silver Award, a prestigious leadership award.
