November events at the Lakeville Council on Aging

LAKEVILLE – There is always something going on at the Lakeville Council on Aging. This month, create holiday crafts, learn about nutrition and more.

Congregate Meals

Congregate meals will be held on Mondays and Tuesdays at 12 p.m. There is a suggested donation of $2.50. Sign-ups are required the week before, To register, call 508-947-7224 and press one. There will not be a congregate meal on Tuesday, Nov. 14. 

Monday, Nov. 13

Book Club

The book club will have their next meeting at 1 p.m. The group will be reading “Boston Girl” by Anita Diamant. Newcomers and walk-in are welcome, registration is not required. 

Wednesday, Nov. 15

Arts and crafts with Amy

A make-your-own holiday craft event will be held at 10 a.m. Participants can make their own block reindeer, Santa, snowmen and more. The event costs $20 per person. To register, call 508-947-7224 and press one. 

Thursday, Nov. 16

Special travel presentation

The Lakeville COA and Collette Travel will provide presentations regarding three upcoming trips at 1 p.m. The trips include Tuscany from Oct. 9 to Oct. 17 2024. Ireland from April. 5 to April 14 2024, and Tulip River cruise and tulip tours in Holland in 2025. Registration is required, call call 508-947-7224 and press one.

Friday, Nov. 17

Nutrition with Ashley Whewell

Join registered dietitian Ashley Whewell at 1 p.m to learn about dairy alternatives and meeting daily requirements for calcium and other vitamins. The class will include a cooking demonstration. To register, call 508-947-7224 and press one. 

Slam Cafe

The creative writing group will share their stories at 10 a.m. Refreshments will be provided.

Jerry and Marge Go Large

The Lakeville COA will screen “Jerry and Marge Go Large” at 10 a.m. Admission costs $2, to register, call 508-947-7224 and press one. 

Tuesday, Nov. 28

Essential Oils

Learn about the uses of essential oils at the “Oils for You to Beat the Flu” class at 1 p.m. Participants will be able to make an immune system boosting “take home” item.To register, call 508-947-7224 and press one.

The Fabelmans

The Lakeville COA will screen “The Fabelmans” at 1 p.m.Admission costs $2, to register, call 508-947-7224 and press one. 

Sunday, Dec. 3

Wreath sale

The friends of the Lakeville COA will be holding their second annual wreath sale at town hall from 10 a.m. to 3 p.m. There will be a large selection of pine cone wreaths, kissing balls, and fresh green wreaths.
