LAKEVILLE – The Long Pond Association’s annual meeting is open to the public and will be held on Saturday July 20 at 10:30 a.m. at the Lakeville Public Library at 4 Precinct St. 

The Long Pond Association is a non-profit dedicated to improving and protecting the water quality of Long Pond.  

Doors open at 10:00 a.m. The agenda will include election of the association’s new board members, and there will also be an update on the association’s efforts to battle invasive weeds in the water, including milfoil. 

Dues are $25 annually and the association is looking for new members to help support its efforts  in weeding and cleaning Long Pond.  

Among the Association’s goals is to purchase its own harvester to have more control over efforts to keep the water clean.

The Association works with Southeastern Regional Planning and Economic Development District and Assawompset Pond Complex to rid the pond of invasive weeds.
