Music fills the summer air in Lakeville
LAKEVILLE — It’s time to plan four evenings under the stars in Lakeville.
Dust off those blankets and lounge chairs to bring to four Tuesday evenings of free musical entertainment on Center Stage.
All concerts are sponsored by the Lakeville Arts Council and are held Tuesdays from 6 to 8 p.m. with rain dates Thursdays from 6 to 8 p.m.
On July 11, performers will be R&B/Soul-inspired alternative rock group Last I Heard of You, featuring Lakeville natives and residents Conner White and Travis Bissel and friend and fellow musician Rupert Simpson. They write their own music, which makes up the majority of what they play.
July 18’s concert will feature the sounds of Cardboard Ox, featuring performers Tracie Potochnik and Steve Allain who joined forces in 2014. The duo is known for sweet and soulful harmonies, thoughtful musicianship, and delicately crafted storytelling.
On July 25 the air will be filled with the sounds of music by Jumpin' Juba playing blues-based roots-rock and classic rock for listening and dancing. The group features Steve Hurl on electric finger-style and slide guitar plus vocals, Dave Lockeretz on bass and Dylan Dichiara on drums.
The concerts will end Aug, 1 with The Catnip Junkies playing popular tunes with a New Orleans twist. This energetic and contagiously joyful show will leave concert-goers smiling and toe tapping all the way home.
The stage is located across the library driveway on the grass in front of the Lakeville Public Library between the three retention ponds and behind the white building on Precinct Street.
