MIDDLEBORO — The Old Colony Elder Services recently honored a Middleboro resident who volunteers with the community support group.

Donna Blaschke, a Middleboro resident and Meals on Wheels volunteer, was honored along with 11 other volunteers who have made a positive impact in their community. Blaschke received the “Make a Difference Award” from her volunteer efforts with Meals on Wheels in Middleboro.

Volunteers like Blaschke help serve the 2,600 meals the Old Colony Elder Services provide to South Coast residents in need everyday.

“It is through the unwavering support of all of our volunteers that many Old Colony Elder Services programs and Community Service Partner programs are better able to assist those in need,” said Armindo Rocha, the Old Colony Elder Services’ Volunteer Programs Manager. “We recognize and thank all of our generous volunteers for their tremendous dedication to helping others and our communities.”
