Middleboro Rotary takes a whack at ax throwing

Feb 17, 2025

MIDDLEBORO — Against the backdrop of thumping axes and laughter, Middleboro Rotary Club members recently experienced an evening filled with a new activity, friendly competition, and shared fellowship at the newly opened Hatchet in Hand ax-throwing business on 15 Center St.

The owner and coach provided tips and tricks, ensuring that everyone, regardless of experience, had a fun time learning the art of axe throwing.

Between the throws, members had the chance to socialize and discuss upcoming Rotary projects.

The highlight of the event was an impromptu axe-throwing competition amid cheers and applause. The most bullseyes were made by club president Matthew Bruce, who, coincidentally or not, happens to share a Viking ancestry.

In all, the Middleboro Rotary Club's axe-throwing evening proved that Rotarians know how to hit the mark when it comes to community building.
