MIDDLEBORO — A 65-year-old Middleboro man was fatally stabbed Saturday, and a suspect is in custody, according to Plymouth County District Attorney Timothy Cruz.

The incident, described by officials as a domestic stabbing, occurred around 8 p.m. on Fairview Street.

Middleboro police issued a shelter-in-place order shortly after the incident while searching for the suspect. The order was lifted after the suspect was apprehended.

The victim was taken to Morton Hospital in Taunton, where he was pronounced dead. Authorities have not released the names of the victim or the suspect.

Cruz said the suspect was being actively questioned late Saturday night. The investigation is ongoing.
