Middleboro Little Leaguers honored at Fenway Park

Sep 22, 2022

The Red Sox aren’t the only team at Fenway Park with World Series experience.

The Middleboro Little League World Series team visited Fenway Park Sept. 17 as a guest of The Boston Red Sox. They were honored before the Red Sox game against the Kansas City Royals.

.“It was awesome,” said Manager Chad Gillpatrick.

The Middleboro team went on the field before the game to receive recognition with 12 high-achieving baseball and softball teams from the region.

Middleboro players signed autographs around the ballpark for fans hoping to memorialize the first Massachusetts Little League World Series team since 2009 and the first Middleboro team since 1994.

With a laugh, Gillpatrick joked that the team has to “take advantage of the spotlight while we still can.”

The accolades continue for the squad. The team will be honored at the Massachusetts Statehouse on Nov. 1.

Team members are Luke Bolduc, Aaron Davis, Cayden Ellis, Gavin Gillpatrick, Jacob Landers, Mike Marzelli, Nathan Mello, Shawn Miller, Joe Monteforte, Ayden Morris, Jayden Murphy, and Reece Trottier.
