Middleboro to host Chalk It Up Arts Festival at Town Hall
MIDDLEBORO — The world is your canvas when you have a box of chalk, and Middleboro Town Hall will serve as an art museum on Saturday, May 6 during the Chalk It Up Arts Festival.
The festival takes place at Middleboro Town Hall, 10 Nickerson Ave., from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m.
Artists can start their projects at 9 a.m., and one box of chalk is provided for each artist.
Judging and the presentation of awards will begin at 3:30 p.m. Cash prizes will be awarded to the top elementary school artist, the top middle school artist, the top high school artist, the top adult artist, the top team drawing, the best in show, and the “heart in art” award.
Two space sizes are available: Artists can rent a 9-foot by 8.5-foot space for $5, or an 18-foot by 8.5-foot space for $10.
The program is sponsored by a grant from the Massachusetts Cultural Council.
