RAYNHAM - Michael John Kelly, age 70, of Raynham, formerly of Middleborough, passed peacefully in his sleep on Friday, November 7, 2025 at his home.
Michael was the beloved husband of Sara (Stone) Kelly; loving father of Justin Kelly & his wife Rachel of Maine, Shannon Johnson & her husband Matthew of Easton, and Matthew Kelly & his wife Cara of Oklahoma; adoring grandfather of six; dear brother of Joseph Kelly & his wife Anne of North Attleborough, Eileen Gates of Middleborough & her late husband Larry, the late James Kelly & his late wife Betty, the late Kevin Kelly & his surviving wife Sue of Middleborough, and the late Cathy Turner and her late husband Edward. While growing up in Middleborough with his family, Michael worked with his father and siblings in the family businesses, developing the talents and skills that would help him succeed throughout his life.
Michael attended Boston University, where he found both his wife Sara and one of his life-long passions after joining the crew team. A passionate rower, he continued to support the program throughout his life; making life-long friends and coordinating with others to have a lasting impact on the program.
After college, Michael worked diligently and became a successful businessman before becoming a teacher in the Brockton Public School system; where he taught a variety of subjects for 25 years before retiring.
Active within his local community, Michael was a Master Mason and Past Master of the Baalis Sanford Lodge in Brockton. He also served as the District Deputy for District 17 of the Grand Lodge of Massachusetts.
He was also a common fixture in local parades as the proud owner of a 1931 Ford Model A; announcing his arrival with the trademark “Ahooga” horn. He served as president of the Model A Restorer’s Club of Massachusetts; traveling to shows and parades and helping his fellow enthusiasts maintain their vehicles through maintenance clinics taught at his home.
Michael was also passionate about serving the community, and worked closely with The Charity Guild of Brockton; volunteering his time and coordinating resources to support the charity’s work.
His favorite job, however, was Grandpa; beloved by his grandchildren, he doted on them profusely and will always be remembered as “Beepa”.
