Local veterans’ organizations will host events to honor fallen soldiers on Memorial Day, Monday, May 29.

The town of Lakeville’s Memorial Day observance will begin at 10:30 a.m. at the town office and fire station building, 346 Bedford Street.

The observance will then move to the old Town Hall and Dickran Diran Square, named for a soldier killed in action in World War I. 

Lakeville’s Honor Roll — which lists the names of local soldiers who were killed in action — is at the old Town Hall. Another honor roll memorializing World War I soldiers is in Dickran Diran Square.

In the case of bad weather, the observance will take place at the old Town Hall at the corner of Precinct and Bedford Streets.

Middleboro’s Memorial Day ceremony will start at 10 a.m. at the Middleboro Veterans Memorial Park on South Main Street.

A parade will begin the event, and after the end of the parade around 11 a.m., there will be a ceremony honoring veterans.
