MIDDLEBORO — Middleboro based company Mass Tank Sales Corporation has acquired Eastern Reliability, a business specializing in designing industrial tanks, according to a press release.

Mass Tank Vice President of Operations Sam Horstmann said that Mass Tank makes custom tanks for a wide range of applications such as heating, food service and water storage. Mass Tank also completes inspections and repairs for other tanks.

According to Horstmann, Mass Tank is over 100 years old and originally started in Quincy.

Hortsmann explained that Eastern Reliability specializes in the sale of plastic tanks, a type of product that Mass Tank did not have substantial business in.

“This gives us the opportunity to have one more product line in our toolbelt,” said Hortsmann. “We’re really excited about the expansion of products and services that we can offer.”

Hortsmann said that Mass Tank has maintained a beneficial relationship with Eastern Reliability for years, which made the acquisition process straightforward.

The facilities of Eastern Reliability are located in New Bedford.

“Eastern Reliability's strong industry presence along with unique product offerings will strengthen Mass Tank's position in the market,” read the press release.
