Margaret “Peggy” (Jardullo) Barry, 80

Rochester, NH - Margaret “Peggy” (Jardullo) Barry, 80, passed away at home on March 25, 2024 after a courageous battle with vascular dementia. Born on April 21,1943 in Middleboro Massachusetts, Margaret was the daughter of the late Dominic and Angelina (Chiocca) Jardullo.

She was an Honor Graduate of Middleboro Memorial High School, Class of 1961, where she excelled as a clarinet player in the band, even making the All - State Band during her senior year.

She graduated from Chandler School for Women.

Prior to her marriage, she worked as an administrative assistant, volunteered as a religious education teacher at Sacred Heart Church and played in the Middleboro Community Band. After she moved to Farmington, NH, she worked in the Farmington school system, and was a cheerleading coach. She continued her career as an administrative assistant for  several departments at the University of New Hampshire. She retired from her job as the administrative assistant to the Dean of the Diamond Library at the University Of New Hampshire on August 31, 2011. She was very well liked and missed from the moment she retired.

She was a dedicated loving wife to the late Kevin Barry for 32 years and she was very family oriented. You would find her sitting on the sidelines, cheering on her children and her granddaughter and she was a big supporter of New England Sports, especially the New England Patriots and the Boston Red Sox.  She enjoyed going out to eat, traveling, playing trivia with friends, reading and shopping. She loved and cherished her granddaughter, who she taught how to shop when she was only three years old.

She is survived by her children, Chris Hobson of Dover, NH, Paul Barry of Rochester, NH and her granddaughter, Lauren Hobson of Fredericksburg Virginia and several cousins, nieces and nephews She was preceded in death by her brother Philip Jardullo.

A visitation will be held on Monday April 1st from 6pm – 8pm at Kent & Pelczar Funeral Home & Crematory, 77 Exeter Road (Route 108), Newmarket.

A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated on Tuesday, April 2nd at 11 am at St Michael Church, 9 Lincoln St, Exeter followed by burial in Riverside Cemetery, Newmarket.
