Lyons to remain in Middleboro after Mansfield selects another finalist
MIDDLEBORO — Middleboro School Superintendent Carolyn Lyons was passed over for the position of leader of the Mansfield schools.
At the Feb. 10 Mansfield School Committee unanimously selected North Attleborough Public Schools Assistant Superintendent Michelle McKeon for the position.
Lyons, who has served in the Middleboro post since 2022, was one of three finalists to replace Mansfield Superintendent Teresa Murphy, who will retire in June.
Prior to becoming superintendent in Middleboro, Lyons served as Director of Pupil Personnel Services and held the position of Secondary Special Education TEAM Facilitator in Middleboro.
Before joining the Middleboro Public Schools, Lyons practiced education law with the firm of Murphy, Hesse, Toomey, and Lehane, LLP. With a focus on special education law, Lyons assisted in the representation of school districts across Massachusetts. Lyons holds a Juris Doctor (JD) from Suffolk University Law School in Boston.
